DOVER, Del. — It’s NASCAR race day at Dover International Speedway, and we’ve got some essential information you need to get ready for Sunday’s FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks.
START TIME: Autism Speaks official Lisa Goring and Kenny Adams, grandson of the late track official Melvin Joseph, are scheduled to instruct drivers to start their engines at 1:07 p.m. ET today. If you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the race, turn on your TV at 1:15 p.m. for the green flag.
GREEN FLAG: Hall of Fame driver Bobby Allison is scheduled to wave the green flag to start the race.
RACE DISTANCE: The FedEx 400, the first of two Sprint Cup races this season at Dover, is 400 laps around the 1-mile Dover International Speedway for a total of 400 miles.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: Nashville singer Megan Ruger will sing the national anthem.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: Fox Sports 1 will broadcast today’s race beginning at 1 p.m. (ET). The Motor Racing Network (MRN) will call the race on the radio.
WEATHER: Temperatures are expected to be in the high 70s at race time with an afternoon high of 88. There is a 30 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms in the track area.
LAST TIME: Jimmie Johnson, active victory leader at Dover with nine, won the 2014 FedEx 400 by .885 of a second over Brad Keselowski. Johnson led 272 of the 400 laps.
STARTING LINEUP: Denny Hamlin will start on the pole after a qualifying lap of 160.121 mph. Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Larson, Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano fill out the top five.
