NASCAR at Michigan qualifying: Time, TV channel, online streaming – SportingNews.com

NASCAR returns to Michigan for the second time this season for both the Sprint Cup and Camping World series. The Xfinity Series will run separately at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Kurt Busch won the Sprint Cup Series race when the series came to Michigan earlier this season. Jeff Gordon won last year’s second race and the pole at Michigan.

All three series will begin practice on Friday with the Sprint Cup Series holding qualifying on Friday for the final event of the day. The Camping World Series and Xfinity Series will hold their qualifying and races on Saturday. Gordon also won qualifying for the Sprint Cup race last season.

Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch each have won four Sprint Cup events this season. Johnson leads Busch, Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano, who are each two-time winners, in the Chase standings. Kyle Busch’s runner-up finish at Watkins Glen allowed him to enter the top 30 in the driver standings. He has to finish 30th or higher in the final regular-season standings to qualify for the Chase, regardless of how many wins he has this season.
