It’s NASCAR race day at Talladega Superspeedway, and we’ve got some essential information you need to get ready for Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series race.

TALLADEGA, Ala. — It’s NASCAR race day at Talladega Superspeedway, and we’ve got some essential information you need to get ready for today’s Sprint Cup Series race.
START TIME: Marcus Lemonis, CEO of Camping World and Good Sam, will instruct drivers to start their engines at 2:18 p.m. Eastern time today (1:18 local), followed by the green flag at 2:30 p.m.
RACE DISTANCE: The Campingworld.com 500 is 188 laps around the 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway tri-oval for a total of 500.08 miles.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: The 313th United States Army Band based in Birmingham, Ala., will perform the national anthem today.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: NBCSN will broadcast today’s race and has a pre-race show beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET. The Motor Racing Network (MRN) will call the race on the radio.
WEATHER: The National Weather Service is calling for a pleasant but overcast October day, with a slight breeze and a high of 79 degrees.
LAST TIME: Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the spring race at Talladega, his sixth victory at NASCAR’s largest track. Brad Keselowski won last year’s fall race, then known as the GEICO 500.

STARTING LINEUP: They love him now. Jeff Gordon, who’s nearing the final race of his career, drew cheers Saturday by winning the pole position for Sunday’s race . He’ll start next to Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kasey Kahne, with teammate Jimmie Johnson starting third.
