WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. — It’s NASCAR race day at Watkins Glen International, and we’ve got some essential information you need to get ready for today’s Cheez-It 355 at The Glen Sprint Cup Series race.
START TIME: The green flag will drop on the season’s final road-course race at 2:19 p.m. ET.
RACE DISTANCE: The Cheez-It 355 at The Glen Sprint Cup Series race is 90 laps around the 2.45-mile Watkins Glen road course for a total of 220.5 miles.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: David Cook, winner of American Idol, Season 8, will perform the National Anthem.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: NBC Sports Network will broadcast the race and has a pre-race show beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET. It can be heard on radio on MRN/SiriusXM.
WEATHER: Looks like those rain tires will not be needed. Forecasts call for partly cloudy and a 20-percent chance of rain and a high of 80 degrees.
LAST TIME: A.J. Allmendinger outdueled Marcos Ambrose in a raucous finish to turn his first Sprint Cup win into a berth for the Chase.
STARTING LINEUP: Allmendinger will start on the pole for the second consecutive road race after qualifying first at Sonoma Raceway in June.
