NASCAR community mourns the loss of Scott Zipadelli’s stepdaughter – FOXSports.com

Torie Costa, stepdaughter of NASCAR XFINITY and Camping World Truck Series crew chief Scott Zipadelli, passed away Friday night after a long battle with cancer.

Throughout her battle with cancer, Torie’s following and support group within the NASCAR community grew. One of Torie’s biggest supporters was Sherry Pollex, longtime girlfriend of Martin Truex Jr. who has fought her own battle against ovarian cancer over the past two years.

For the November race at Texas Motor Speedway, the Red Horse Racing trucks carried Torie’s name above the passenger side door. Zipadelli served as the crew chief for Ben Kennedy this season at RHR.

Torie’s battle with cancer also drew the attention of Carolina Panther’s tight end Greg Olsen, Atlanta Braves outfielder Braxton Davidson, and others.

Unfortunately, Torie’s fight with the disease came to an end Friday night at 9:37 p.m. ET. The NASCAR community came out to offer thoughts and prayers to Torie’s entire family.
