Richmond, Va. – The Federated Auto Parts 400 is the final regular season race in the NASCAR Cup Series, and the drivers found a special way to thank their fans.

Before the race officially started, the drivers circled Richmond Raceway’s track, warming up their cars with a pace car leading the way. As they prepared for the green flag, the whole field – which usually starts and restarts two cars wide – temporarily shifted positions and drove four-wide as a tribute to NASCAR’s fan base.

Driving four cars wide is a spectacle during a race and a bold move by the last driver to join the group and try to make a pass.

But with the beautiful sunset in the background for the last regular season race, the four-wide salute offered a wonderful scene.
