NASCAR Mobile app, Xbox, Fantasy enhancements unveiled for 2017 – Nascar

NASCAR is enhancing the race day experience for fans this season, beginning with the Advance Auto Parts Clash at Daytona.

All throughout the season, fans will be able to tune in to MRN/PRN broadcasts free of charge, including MRN/PRN Monster Energy NASCAR Cup qualifying radio. The in-depth NASCAR Drive experience, which will also be available on mobile web and the app, can be accessed without charge.

Fans will have access to several premium features in the NASCAR Mobile app during the season-opening Clash: Users can tune in to driver in-car audio on the race leaderboards, as well as check out a Crew Chief section that features the following:

-Dashboard: Real-time driver telemetry that offers fans the ability to see estimated fuel remaining, throttle, brake, RPM, speed, as well as the next estimated pit stop.

-Timeline: Pit stop information, including gas, tires and flag state.

-Top Ten: Real-time GPS position on the track.

RaceView’s premium features will also be offered for free during The Clash in the app and on desktop.

NASCAR will also target fans using Xbox to view race day content, The app will surface timely and relevant content throughout the week and offer new content pre-race, during the race and post-race. Features include an enhanced race-aware experience, VOD channels with an improved video player, and live leaderboard and radio broadcast during the race.

Fantasy Live will receive a 2017 makeover coupling with the 2017 race stage enhancements. Stage 1 and 2 points will be awarded to players when drivers on their rosters earn them in the following manner: First-10th-place drivers at the conclusion of each stage will receive 10 points for first place, nine points for second place, eight points for third place, etc. The finishing position points will mimic NASCAR as well, with first place receiving 40 points, second place earning 35 points, third place notching 34 points and fourth place winning 33 points. This will continue in decrements of one point per position, with 36th-40th place earning one point apiece.

In addition, a $3,000 cash prize will be offered to the first-place Daytona 500 winner.

Streak to the Finish will operate in a similar manner to 2016, but milestone prizes will be awarded for hitting streaks of 10, 20 and 30 in addition to the end-of-season prizes. There will still be five segment winners, one per segment, for longest streak.
