NASCAR probing Jimmie Johnson No. 48 car for… – NBCSports.com
NASCAR is reviewing a possible infraction by a crew member of Jimmie Johnson‘s No. 48 team during Saturday night’s Sprint All-Star race. NASCAR stated the possible infraction relates to modifying the side skirt of Johnson’s car.
Manipulation of side skirts was outlawed by NASCAR prior to the start of this season.
Johnson, who has won the All-Star Race a record four times, started Saturday’s event 12th and finished 15th in the 20-driver field.
Johnson was not much of a factor after hitting the wall in the first segment of the five-segment event.
If the possible violation is upheld, NASCAR would likely issue penalties in the next few days.
