NASCAR has issued another warning to teams about the consequences of repeatedly failing inspections at the race track.
In a bulletin sent to Sprint Cup teams before Richmond International Raceway opened for Saturday’s race, NASCAR said it will begin issuing written warnings if a car fails two inspections before qualifying. A third inspection will lead to the loss of 15 minutes of practice time the next week.
The policies apply to the inspections before qualifying and the actual race.
NASCAR said Friday that if the policy had been in place last week, nine teams would have received written warnings at Bristol Motor Speedway. Three of those teams would have been docked practice time Friday at Richmond.
