Rashida Tlaib now thinks she’s a victim because people reacted to her offensive remarks – Washington Examiner
Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., is at it again.
During an interview on the “Skullduggery” podcast, the only member of Congress openly advocating for the abolition the state of Israel went off on quite the diatribe:
Predictably, conservatives pounced or seized or whatever they’re doing these days. Really, though, any reasonable person would, because what she said is ludicrous.
Tlaib responded with a personal outburst on Twitter a few hours later.
Policing my words, twisting & turning them to ignite vile attacks on me will not work. All of you who are trying to silence me will fail miserably. I will never allow you to take my words out of context to push your racist and hateful agenda. The truth will always win.

If by “policing” she means “listening to,” and if by ” twisting and turning” she means “quoting,” then maybe she has a point. Otherwise, not so much.
Tlaib is just working from the playbook that she and Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., have perfected.
First, say something outrageous or outright anti-Semitic.
Second: Conservatives pounce!
Third: Claim victimhood.
Tlaib could have simply said that while her framing of her remarks was irresponsible, her intentions were pure. But she’s not even trying to hide the ball here anymore. She won’t clarify the content of what she said, because she believes exactly what she said. She endorses a revisionist history of the Palestinian leadership’s active efforts to collaborate with Adolf Hitler and prevent Jews from returning to their historic homeland.
Bear in mind that she wasn’t even asked about the Holocaust. She brought it up herself to advocate for the abolition of Israel with a one-state solution.
Tlaib earned her congressional seat through a series of accidents, and it’s very possible that a Democrat who sounds less insane will primary her. But for the next year and a half, this is the playbook that will reappear in the news every fortnight or so.
