Rio 2016 Olympics Soccer Draw: Hosts Brazil, Neymar get easy group – CBSSports.com

The draw for this summer’s men’s Olympic soccer tournament took place on Thursday, with host Brazil getting an easy draw. The favorites, who will be led by Neymar, are in Group A with South Africa, Iraq and Denmark. Here’s the draw.

Mexico, the reigning gold medal winners, should have no trouble with Fiji and South Korea, but one slip up, combined with playing Germany, could complicate things.

Brazil and Germany are the favorites entering the competition. And this tournament is Neymar’s summer goal since his club Barcelona isn’t letting him play in the Copa America earlier in the summer.

The tournament is played with mainly U-23 players and three senior players, with Neymar being one of them for Brazil.

The competition will start on August 3. Interested in seeing the draw for the women’s tournament and when the USWNT will play? Click here.
