INDIANAPOLIS  — NASCAR Sprint Cup teams debut a high-drag aero package, which has created questions about the racing heading into today’s Crown Royal presents the Jeff Kyle 400 at The Brickyard. This race also is the last for five-time winner Jeff Gordon at this track. 

Here are the particulars for today’s race (all times are ET):

START: Mari Hulman George, Indianapolis Motor Speedway chairman, will give the command for drivers to start their engines at 3:27 p.m. ET. The green flag is scheduled for 3:39 p.m.

DISTANCE: The race is scheduled for 160 laps (400 miles) around the 2.5-mile oval.

PRERACE SCHEDULE: The Sprint Cup garage opens at 9:30 a.m. The drivers meeting is at 1:30 p.m. Driver introductions are at 2:50 p.m.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: It will be performed by Country music recording artist Kellie Pickler at 3:21 p.m.

TV/RADIO:  NBCSN will broadcast the race (and streaming available at http://stream.nbcsports.com/liveextra), starting with NASCAR America at 2 p.m. and Countdown to Green at 3 p.m. Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network will broadcast the race on radio with its prerace show at 2:30 p.m. ET. SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will carry the radio broadcast.

FORECAST: The wunderground.com site predicts 86 degrees at race time with a 35% chance of rain. Chance of rain increases to 100% by 5 p.m.

LAST TIME: Jeff Gordon led the final 17 laps to score his record fifth Brickyard 400 finish. Kyle Busch placed second for the second time in three years. Joe Gibbs Racing’s cars placed second, third and fourth.
