Toddler dead after being found in swimming pool in Homer Glen – Chicago Tribune
A 1-year-old boy died after he was found unresponsive in a swimming pool Sunday evening in southwest suburban Homer Glen.
David Garcia Jr., who lived in Plainfield, was discovered in a swimming pool in the 14000 block of South Erin Court in Homer Glen, according to a statement from the Will County coroner’s office.
The 17-month-old was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, where he was pronounced dead at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, according to the coroner’s office.
The preliminary results of the boy’s autopsy Monday were consistent with drowning. The final cause and manner of death will be determined at a later date, according to the coroner’s office.
The sheriff’s office is still investigating, and no other information was immediately available.
