The U.S. women’s soccer team will hold a public training session in Birmingham next weekend before their game against Haiti.
The public training session will take place the day before the game – at 11 a.m. Sept. 19, also at Legion Field. Admission is free and open to the public.
U.S. Soccer Supporters Club members in the Star Club and above receive field level access at the public training session.
Gates open at 10 a.m., and fans should enter through gates 10 and 11. Parking is free in Lot F, the Official Lot, Lot D and the Bus Lot.

- Friday, Sept. 18: Alabama Sports Hall of Fame from 2 to 6 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 20: Legion Field, Fan HQ from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., west side of the stadium across from Gate 5
The game itself is Sunday, Sept. 20, at Legion Field at 1:30 p.m.
Haiti was announced last week as a late replacement for the Australian national team, who backed out over a players’ strike. This will be the first friendly match between the U.S. and Haiti.
Last week, Gene Hallman, executive director of the Alabama Sports Foundation and CEO of the Bruno Event Team, said about 35,000 tickets had been sold so far and that the match could take place before a record crowd.
Tickets are available at ussoccer.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 and at all Ticketmaster ticket centers. They will not be sold at Legion Field except on the day of the event. Here’s the price breakdown for various ticket options.
The game is part of a 10-match tour to celebrate the USA’s third World Cup title. The tour began Aug. 16 against Costa Rica in Pittsburgh, then continued with a sold-out game against Costa Rica in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Aug. 19.
After playing in Birmingham, the team will play against Brazil on Oct. 21 in Seattle and Oct. 25 in Orlando. The remaining match dates, venues and opponents will be announced as they are confirmed.
