Let’s preface this post by saying the following video is a bit on the insane side.

This one comes from the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League, a Canadian junior circuit based out of Ontario. Most of the players in this league are under the age of 20 vying to extend their careers in the college ranks and beyond. In a game that we know at least features the London Lakers and appears to also include the Kingsville Kings, things got completely out of control.

A scrum that started with a Lakers player running the opposing goalie and ended with a linesman appearing to punch a London player, followed by a person who appears to be London’s athletic trainer or equipment manager running onto the ice and knocking over the linesman.

Here’s the whole crazy sequence, which was posted to YouTube Monday:

If there has been any discipline handed down by the league, it has yet to be made public.

UPDATE: According to The Hockey News, the incident actually happened back in November, but video only started making the rounds once it was posted to YouTube on Monday. It’s kind of amazing something like this stayed under wraps for as long as it did.

Per THN, the incident resulted in eight ejections.

Not a good look for anyone involved, really.
