In case you missed it, Saturday night’s fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao was dumb and bad. What was billed as The Fight of the Century was little more than a glorified sparring session, as a supposedly injured Pacquiao circled around a lightly jabbing Mayweather who did just enough to win. Many people spent 100 bucks to watch not much, which is too bad, because there were so many good sports this weekend.

Here’s a list of 15 moments from the sports world this weekend that were better than anything in Mayweather-Pacquiao.

1. Alex Ovechkin’s goal from his stomach against the Rangers

Did you see this goal? The Capitals may have lost 3-2 to the Rangers, evening up the series, but Ovechkin scored one of the best hockey goals I’ve ever seen when he split two defenders and shelved it from his stomach.

2. Chris Paul’s impossible game-winner

Playing with a pulled hamstring, CP3 did this to beat the defending-champion Spurs. How is this possible?

3. The entirety of Game 7 of Spurs-Clippers

People spent thousands of dollars to be in Las Vegas this weekend for the fight, when a mere four-hour drive away, the Spurs and Clippers were giving us the sporting event of the year. A series which should have been the Western Conference Finals went to seven, and could only be separated by the above play. I wanted this series to go on forever.

4. The Kentucky Derby

The favorite, American Pharoah, won a race that was moderately exciting, AKA infinitely more exciting than the bout.

5. John Wall’s performance in Game 1

The Wizards went on the road and beat the Hawks in Game 1, led by John Wall, who picked apart the Hawks defense for four quarters. He did this with a bum wrist, too, because he’s a monster.

6. Randy Wittman continuing his playoff hot streak

I was ready for Wizards coach Randy Wittman to get fired a month after the All-Star break, and right now he looks like the best coach in the NBA. I have no idea how this happened, but I am enjoying it.

7. Evan Gattis smashing two home runs for the frisky Astros

The Astros are 18-7 and first in the AL West. I’m guessing not a lot of you even remembered the Astros were now in the AL West. They are though, and they’re mashing. Look at Evan Gattis yank this one.

8. Kolten Wong’s game-winning solo shot

Wong helped the Cardinals get a series sweep over the Pirates with this solo shot.

9. Yasmani Grandal’s extra-inning walk-off

Yasmani Grandal got an extra-inning walk-off homer of his own.

10. Steven Stamkos’ unreal goal on the Canadiens

Are you kidding me Stamkos? Guy hasn’t scored yet in the playoffs, then did this to break the draught. Incredible.

11. Chelsea winning the Premier League

Chelsea won the Premier League on Sunday with a pedestrian and fairly boring 1-0 win over Crystal Palace. It was an inevitability, and it was still more enjoyable to watch than Mayweather-Pacquiao.

12. Steven Gerrard turning the clock back for Liverpool

Gerrard is going to be great for Los Angeles Galaxy.

13. Miguel Jimenez nearly fighting Keegan Bradley

This happened on a golf course. It was fun.

14. A goal my buddy Andy scored in our rec league soccer game

This wasn’t televised or anything, and there were like 10 people in attendance, but this goal was pretty sweet. A lot more exciting than the fight, believe me.

15. Game of Thrones episode on Sunday night

This isn’t even sports, but did you see that fight scene? Awesome.
