BBC pay report: full details of the best paid sport stars’ salaries – Telegraph.co.uk

Sport accounted for 12 of the 96 best paid BBC stars, with viewers reacting with particular shock at how several male presenters were so much better remunerated than their highest-paid female colleagues.

Although Gary Lineker’s place near the top of the list on a salary of between £1.75 million and £1.8 million was expected, the huge gap to some of his most accomplished female colleagues was striking. Lineker is on around 10 times more than Clare Balding and around eight times more than Gabby Logan.

The salary of Jason Mohammad, largely known as the presenter of Final Score and various BBC Wales broadcasts, has also caused surprise. At between £200,000 and £249,000-a-year, Mohammad is currently the fourth best paid BBC Sport presenter or pundit; ahead of the higher-profile Logan or Balding, as well as John Inverdale, Jonathan Agnew, Mark Chapman and Dan Walker, who works on BBC Breakfast and fronts Football Focus.
