CBS Sports 128: Ole Miss moves to No. 2, seven Pac-12 teams in top 25 – CBSSports.com

CBS Sports 128 — Week 3: 1-25 | 26-128

Ole Miss’ upset of Alabama on Saturday night shook up the supposed power structure in the SEC West, as the Tide have started 0-1 in conference play and now face an uphill climb to reach the College Football Playoff for the second straight season. The Rebels impressed the CBS Sports’ voters, jumping up to No. 2 in the CBS Sports 128 from No. 11. Alabama was expected to fall after the loss, but now at No. 14, the Tide rank fifth in the SEC behind Ole Miss, Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M.

Notre Dame moves up into the top five after a big victory against Georgia Tech at home, joining Michigan State and Georgia. Baylor, LSU, UCLA, TCU and Florida State round out the top 10.

TCU’s slow tumble, with no losses, from No. 2 in the preseason down to No. 9 is worth keeping an eye on as the Frogs get ready to face Texas Tech, a team that has crept up to No. 33, in Lubbock this coming Saturday.

Missouri (No. 31) and Auburn (No. 42) both fell from the top 25, opening up spots for new arrivals like Northwestern (No. 16), Stanford (No. 19) and Cal (No. 25). Georgia Tech (No. 18), USC (No. 21), and BYU (No. 22) all dropped in the rankings after losses but remain among the top 25 teams in the CBS Sports 128.
