CBS Sports 130 college football rankings: Georgia moves into the No. 3 spot – CBSSports.com

Clemson starting quarterback Kelly Bryant was knocked out of the game during Saturday’s win against Wake Forest, and though Dabo Swinney expects Bryant’s sprained ankle to be healed in time for the Tigers’ next game (Friday at Syracuse), the offense should still be fine with either Zerrick Cooper or Hunter Johnson in the lineup. 

The Tigers remain at No. 1 in the CBS Sports 130, still ahead of Alabama after again displaying the Crimson Tide-like brand of program depth that Swinney and his staff have put in place. When a handful of NFL players leave, there’s a group of two- and three-year contributors hungry for more work. When a starting quarterback goes down with an ankle injury, there are a couple of blue chippers on the sideline who can come in and secure the victory to keep title hopes alive. 

Oklahoma’s loss to Iowa State opened up a spot in the top three that is now occupied by Georgia, and Michigan State is in the top 25 of the rankings for the first time this season after taking down Michigan.

CBS Sports 130, Week 7

Biggest movers 

• Michigan State (+13): This is a bounce back win in what is looking like a bounce back season for Sparty. Wins over Iowa and Michigan boost a profile which only has one loss to a good Notre Dame team. 
• Texas A&M (+10): Even in a loss, the Aggies moved up in the rankings from No. 39 to No. 29 after giving the Tide all they could handle in a tougher-than-expected game.
• Oklahoma (-10): Baker Mayfield is one of the best quarterbacks in the country, but in the second half against Iowa State, the Sooners scored just one touchdown on its final four possessions. The defense was put in a bad spot and now it’s going to be an uphill battle with no margin for error to make the College Football Playoff. 
• Michigan (-12): The offense just isn’t good enough right now for Michigan to be in a spot where you can consider it a national title contender. The Wolverines are top-20 good, for sure, but on a track towards another 10-2 type season. 
• LSU (+17): The Tigers needed a make-good game after being bounced by Troy in Death Valley, and they got just that by handing Florida a tough one-point loss in The Swamp while making some gains on offense.
• Texas (+15): The Longhorns stand at 3-2, but they now have wins over an Iowa State team that beat Oklahoma and a tough Kansas State squad. The 51-41 opening-season loss to Maryland is a black eye, sure, but the only other loss is 27-24 to USC.
