CBS Sports 130 rankings: TCU and Georgia into top 10, Florida … – CBSSports.com

As conference play begins and favorites are knocked off, we are going to see more movement in the CBS Sports 130, our comprehensive ranking of all 130 FBS college football teams.

Last week, Oklahoma State made it up into the top five, Mississippi State surged up to No. 10 and Vanderbilt was one of the biggest movers of the week after beating Kansas State, making it up to No. 19 in the balloting of CBS Sports and 247Sports experts. One conference game later, all three teams have fallen by double-digits in the rankings.

The tie for the top spot between Alabama and Clemson was also broken thanks to the Tide’s 59-0 thrashing of the Commodores in Nashville, Tennessee. Georgia has moved up to No. 7 in our rankings and appears to be SEC’s most worthy competitor to Alabama as Nick Saban’s group reminded us all how dangerous they can be when the switch is flipped.

Oklahoma and Penn State held on to their spots at No. 3 and No. 4 after close conference wins, and USC is back in the top five after a nail-biter of its own on the road at Cal. TCU is one of the week’s biggest movers after knocking off Oklahoma with Georgia, Washington, Michigan and Wisconsin rounding out the reshuffled top 10.

College football experts from CBS Sports and 247Sports contribute ballots each week, which are averaged together for our rankings. You can see the top-25 below, and 26-130 on our rankings page.

Biggest movers

  • TCU (+10): As long as TCU can lean on a physical rushing attack with Darius Anderson, it’s going to be a force in the Big 12 title race.
  • Duke (+9): After knocking off rival North Carolina, Duke is 4-0 and has three consecutive double-digit wins against Power Five schools for the first time since Steve Spurrier was on the sideline in 1989.
  • Florida State (-22): Jimbo Fisher has indicated that there is no panic for the Seminoles despite the program’s first 0-2 start since 1989, but the CBS Sports 130 voters have slotted FSU well outside the top 25, even below its Week 5 opponent, Wake Forest.
  • Vanderbilt (-24): After making an appearance in the top 25 of these rankings last week, the Commodores dropped all the way to No. 43 following the 59-0 loss to Alabama.
