From the cowbells waving vigorously under Friday night lights to the painted signs on basketball players’ lockers, when in comes to high school sports in Texas, we’ve got spirit, yes, we do.

But only one school can have the best sports program in the state.
Niche examined high school sports programs in the Lone Star State and ranked them based on number of sports offered, percentage of student participation, expenses per athlete, as well as student and parent surveys.

Parents and students were asked about fitness and athletics at the school on a scale of 1 to 5. Those surveys counted for 45 percent of the ranking while number of sports accounted for 20 percent of the ranking. Expenses per athlete factored into 5 percent of the weighted total.
