Fox Sports 1 has suspended former NBA star Gary Payton from his role as NBA analyst, according to Awful Announcing. A report from TMZ earlier this week said Payton was being sued by a woman who claims he assaulted her three times at an event in January. Payton has denied the claims.

Though Fox Sports 1 confirmed the suspension, they did not specify when the suspension began. Awful Announcing found a clip dating back to February as the most recent featuring Payton in his analyst role. He has served as an NBA analyst for Fox Sports 1 since the 2013 when network debuted.

Donny Marshall and Corey Maggette have been more recently featured as in-studio NBA analysts for the network. As Awful Announcing points out, it is bizarre that no one has notice Payton’s absence, especially if he has been off the air for more than a month. But that could be more of an indictment of Fox Sports 1’s viewership than anything else.
