How Democrats emboldened anti-Semites this week – Washington Examiner
Doctors warn you to finish complete rounds of antibiotics, even if an infection feels better, in order to prevent the bacteria from developing antibiotic resistance.
Shame has the same relation with racists and anti-Semites. That’s why halfhearted critiques of Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, only empowered his racism, to the point that he was came to equate Mexicans to “dirt” on the campaign trail and defend white supremacy to the New York Times.
Well, congratulations, Democrats. You didn’t finish your medicine. You passed a pathetic excuse of an “All Lives Matter” denunciation of hate on all sides, and now the sickness is catching. You didn’t teach Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., one lick of empathy or humility. Instead, her anti-Semitism has gained mainstream support in the Democratic Party. It is now shame-resistant, and she’ll be more vocal than ever with it.
Don’t believe me? It’s already happening. The vote on the “anti-Semitism” resolution occurred not 24 hours ago, and Omar’s already hit the ground running on her victory lap.
In a joint statement with Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich. (the only sitting congresswoman to openly support the eradication of Israel) and Rep. Andre Carson, D-Ind., Omar celebrated the “historic” day. Why? Because “it’s the first time we have voted on a resolution condemning anti-Muslim bigotry in our nation’s history.”
Remember: Omar’s anti-Semitism was the reason for this resolution. Instead of learning a lesson from it, she’s learned she is untouchable.
A few hours after that, Omar retweeted Mehdi Hasan mocking Meghan McCain for becoming visibly upset on television regarding Omar’s comments.
Meghan’s late father literally sang ‘bomb bomb bomb Iran’ and insisted on referring to his Vietnamese captors as ‘gooks’. He also, lest we forget, gave the world Sarah Palin.
So a little less faux outrage over a former refugee-turned-freshman-representative pls. https://t.co/zH6VZxBYc4

This disgraceful result is really the result of Nancy Pelosi’s abrupt cowardice. She would have done less harm by delivering a milquetoast critique and, say, simply avoided posing on a national magazine cover with her. By calling out Omar and then chickening out, she handed Omar a major political victory instead of the rebuke she deserved.
Congresswoman Omar won. Less than a month ago she was coerced into a half-hearted apology. Now she’s brimming with unabashed pride over her ability to shut down the saner denizens of her party.
Any veneer of contrition from Omar has been shot to hell by the Democrats’ dereliction of duty in calling out hate in their ranks. Omar’s first apology following the “Benjamins” catastrophe was “unequivocal.” Her second was a big, fat sorry to anyone whose feelings she hurt. Now there is none. Just sheer glee and giant “up-yours” to every Jew in the country who felt rattled by her invocation of multiple anti-Semitic stereotypes.
It will only get worse. Just as we saw strains of the French protectionist Right migrate across the Atlantic into the 2016 election, the Corbynization of the Democratic Party is well underway. Even the nominal facade of Jewish and Israeli tolerance has been shed, not just by one member of the House, but by every hateful hack who enabled her.
Yes, the anti-Semitism of the Left that percolated from college dorm rooms to the Women’s March and finally to the hallowed halls of Congress is at last shame-resistant, and it’s here to stay.
