Emily Austen, the Fox Sports Florida sideline reporter who lost her job due to a string of offensive and racist remarks she made on a Barstool Sports video last week, began her apology tour Sunday — but some media experts reportedly doubt whether it will be enough.

After all, it’s not often someone calls NBA star Kevin Love “a little bitch” on camera, then proceeds to say she “didn’t even know that Mexicans were that smart” and the “Chinese guy is always the smartest guy in the class.”

One sports TV executive told Sports Illustrated: “I can’t imagine anyone who would give her a chance unless the earth was suddenly void of female ‘commentators.’ No way I can call her a reporter. If I was her I would admit to a lapse of judgment and state my stupid comments don’t represent who I am.”

She did — to a degree — on Sunday, via Twitter.

“I made a terrible mistake,” she wrote. “I was in an environment where I was trying to be funny and make a joke and my comments were insensitive. You can trust this was absolutely not my intention. Anyone who knows me knows that is not how I truly feel. I will continue to work hard to prove myself and make things right. I know I have some growing to do, and I sincerely apologize. Something like this will never happen again.”

Actually, Austen may never get the opportunity, according to a cable sports executive also polled by Sports Illustrated.

“These comments are so insensitive that this just may not be possible,” the exec said. “Also, she’s just not talented enough to warrant a guaranteed second chance.”

One ghastly insult could prove to be particularly ironic, said a sports radio executive.

Austen was prompted in the Barstool video to discuss Jewish people being stingy. Taking the bait, she said she “went to school in Boca, so I know most of that — the way I used to talk to Jews in Boca, they hated — because I was a server, and I just didn’t care and they would complain and bitch about everything. I gave a guy a beer and he was complaining to me that there was too much head and I knew that he was a stingy a—— and that he wasn’t going to give me a tip,” and concluded by making a play on words about oral sex.

“I assume that Emily has not impacted ratings or revenue in a positive way,” the radio exec said. “If this is the case, I hope that she remembers her Boca waitressing skills, [because] she’s gonna need them.”
