LSU Sports Radio Network Affiliates, Updates for 2016 – LSUSports.net

BATON ROUGE — The new “Voice of the Tigers” Chris Blair will make his LSU football debut Saturday afternoon and when he takes the microphone at Lambeau Field, he will broadcast Tiger football on one of the most powerful radio networks in college athletics.

The LSU Sports Radio Networks spans a total of 21 radio stations, including flagship station Eagle 98.1 FM and its 95,000-watt signal and AM radio giant WWL 870 AM in New Orleans. LSU football will also be broadcast on SiriusXM Satellite Radio.

A new feature for Tiger fans in 2016 is the ability to listen to audio streaming for all LSU sports for free exclusively at www.lsusports.net/live and on the LSUsports Mobile App presented by BASF.

LSU Sports Properties also announced it has extended its partnership with flagship station Eagle 98.1 (WDGL-FM Baton Rouge) through 2021. The LSU partnership with WWL Radio (870 AM/105.3 FM) in New Orleans goes through 2020.

Blair, who replaces longtime LSU radio voice Jim Hawthorne, will be joined in the broadcast booth for football by former Tiger greats Doug Moreau and Gordy Rush. Moreau enters his 29th season as part of the LSU radio team, while Rush is in his sixth season as the sideline reporter.

Derek Ponamsky and Jordy Culotta from Guaranty Broadcasting’s ESPN 104.5 FM in Baton Rouge will serve as the new hosts of a revamped LSU Game Day Live pre-game show presented by CST and the BMW Post-Game Report. The new pre-game show will have feature segments that highlight former players and special guests, current player interviews and great moments in LSU Football.

For the fifth-consecutive year, LSU will offer a Spanish-language broadcast for home games on KDDK 105.5 FM in Baton Rouge and 1540 AM in New Orleans led by play-by-play voice Mario Jerez.

“The LSU Sports Radio Network has a great list of affiliates for the 2016 football season,” said Ward Wyatt, general manager of LSU Sports Properties. “We are very excited to have extended the partnerships with long time affiliates Eagle 98.1 here in Baton Rouge and WWL in New Orleans.

This year’s LSU Sports Radio Network affiliates give LSU football tremendous coverage not only in Louisiana but across the South, making the LSU Sports Radio Network one of the premier college radio networks in the country.”
