Mitch Williams and Lenny Dykstra have a long history of hating each other. Dykstra has long held the belief that Williams blew the 1993 World Series, and seems to hold him accountable for that. Williams, obviously, is not a big fan of that opinion.
The two were able to … um … work out some of those issues at a recent event in Philadelphia. The Philly Sports Roast was supposed to be a fun, lighthearted affair. It quickly turned ugly. Be warned, the language in the following video is highly NSFW. Do not watch this at work!
Yikes!
That winds up being highly uncomfortable at the end. Dykstra initially seems annoyed with Williams, but it quickly devolves into something that is tough to watch.
This is far from the first time these two have nearly gotten into it at a public event. The two confronted each other at a card signing back in 2013.
Their issues stem from a 2008 interview in which Dykstra told the New York Times he hated Williams. In a 2011 interview with NBC10 Dykstra talked openly about how much he despised Williams, according to Philly.com.
That moment never set well with Dykstra, who 2 years ago told NBC10’s John Clark that he kept in touch with all of 1993 Phillies teammates, “except Mitch.”
“After what he put me through . . . torture, [bleeping] torture,” Dykstra told Clark. “The guy hit barrel after barrel. He lost the World Series.”
The above video was only a snippet of the event. While things got heated, the two did not get into a physical altercation.

Perhaps we’re being fooled, and this is all just a big prank by these two to get some attention. Considering their history, and the uncomfortable aspects of the video, that seems highly unlikely.
