Matt Kenseth will be the first to tell you that he’s not known for his great qualifying, but Friday at Richmond International Raceway, Kenseth earned his 19th career pole when he put his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota in the No. 1 spot for Sunday’s Toyota Owners 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race.
Ryan Blaney will start on the outside of Row 1 in his Wood Brothers Racing Ford, with Martin Truex Jr. and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on Row 2. Another Jr., Dale Earnhardt Jr., qualified 12th.
