Report: Ole Miss charged with 30 NCAA violations in three sports – CBSSports.com

Ole Miss has reportedly been charged with 30 NCAA violations across three sports — football, women’s basketball and track and field — according to Yahoo! Sports’ Pat Forde.

It is not known the breakdown of violations by sport, but according to ESPN’s Joe Schad the majority of the violations are not associated with football and those that are predate the current coaching staff.

Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman reports that most of the infractions involving Hugh Freeze’s staff are about the Laremy Tunsil incident that he already sat out seven games for.

Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork released a statement regarding the violations.

“As has been the case for the past three years, we are bound by confidentiality and cannot comment publicly on the matter,” said Bjork. “However, I can say that I’m confident in how our coaches and staff operate our program, and we take compliance, NCAA and SEC rules very seriously. We are working hard to seek a resolution to this matter.”

The school will have 90 days to respond to the allegations and then the case will either be resolved by summary disposition or be heard by the Committee on Infractions at a hearing.
