Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has been released from an undisclosed treatment center, multiple sources tell FOX Sports 1 Insider Bruce Feldman. Manziel entered the facility — that specializes in drug and alcohol treatment — in late January.
One source said the second-year player seems to have really matured quite a bit in the past few months but added that it’s a tough road ahead.
ESPN was first to report the news.
Manziel entered the private facility in Ohio on Jan. 28. In March, Browns head coach Mike Pettine was asked if he viewed Manziel’s lengthier stay in the center as a positive sign.
”Sure,” he said. ”It’s something that he was very resolute that needed to get done.”
