The Fairfield County Sports Commission will be holding its 11th annual Sports Night on Monday, October 19 at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich. The Sports Persons of the Year from the 16 Fairfield County communities as well as six inductees into the Fairfield County Sports Hall of Fame will be honored.

Stamford Old-Timers dinner set for Dec. 7
The 73rd annual Stamford Old Timers dinner is set for Monday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. at the Italian Center located at 1620 Newfield Ave. in Stamford. The 2015 honorees for the Old-Timers, which granted over $20,000 to deserving Scholar-Athletes and local sports teams in 2014, are Bob Augustyn, Ken Barber, Art Defillipis, Stamford High girls softball coach Tony Esposito, Joe Mancini Jr. and James O’Sullivan.
The Old-Timers’ second annual Memorial Award recipients are John Scalzi and Andy Wasil. Dinner tickets are $75 and program ads are available as well. CAS-CIAC to honor Ro Carlucci
Former Westhill High School girls gymnastics coach, the late Rose Marie Carlucci, will be among the nine distinguished honorees to be inducted as the inaugural class of the CAS-CIAC Hall of Honor on October 17 at the AquaTurf Club in Southington. Ms. Carlucci provided valuable service as an official, and coach for more than 35 years, including running the CIAC gymnastics championship for more than 20 years. She accumulated numerous accolades for her work as both a coach and official throughout her career. The other eight honorees for their service to the Connecticut Association of Schools – Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference are Dr. Robert Carroll, Dr. Suzanne C. D’Annolfo, Mr. Timothy Doyle, Mr. Robert Duncanson, Mr. John Fontana, Mr. Don Gates, Ms. Ann Malafronte and Mr. Michael Savage. Stamford Junior Wrestling Club registration underway
The Stamford Junior Wrestling Warriors Club is starting its 27th season. Registration began Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Westhill High School. Online registration at www.stamfordwrestling.com continues through December 17. The weekly practice schedule remains 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. on Mondays at the Boys & Girls Club as well as Tuesdays and Thursdays in the wrestling room at Westhill High School.
