The 5 Most Valuable Apparel Deals In College Sports – Forbes

The University of Michigan’s new apparel deal with Nike is the most valuable in college sports. It’s runs from August 1, 2016 through July 31, 2027, with an option for Michigan to sign a four-year extension through 2031. Value: $122.32 million (without option, including $12 million upfront), $169 million with option.

The deal with Nike represents a 37% increase annually compared with the $82 million, 10-year deal the school currently has with Adidas. Nike will pay Michigan about half in cash and half in apparel. Nike will supply all 31 University of Michigan athletic programs with uniforms, footwear, apparel and equipment.

Here are the top five apparel deals in college sports. USC is not here due to the schools unique merchandise license agreement with Silver Star Merchandising, an apparel manufacturer and distributor launched in 2010 by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Ohio State University has something similar with J. American Sportswear and Fanatics, Inc.
