BLACKSBURG — When former Virginia Tech basketball coach James Johnson recruited Devin Wilson, he was impressed by the Pennsylvania native’s physical toughness and track record of winning. And not only on the basketball court.

Johnson, now the director of basketball operations at Miami, watched plenty of video of Wilson playing football at Montour High School in McKees Rocks, Pa., and was struck by the point guard prospect’s “toughness, ball possession” and “winning in both sports,” Johnson said this week.
