Wednesday’s Hot Clicks: Camille Ringoir; US Soccer in the Crapper after Trinidad and Tobago Loss – Sports Illustrated
Bummer
The 2018 World Cup just got a lot less interesting. The U.S. won’t participate for the first time since 1986 after last night’s loss to Trinidad and Tobago. The reaction was fierce from former USMNT members. Grant Wahl breaks down what this means for U.S. soccer, while Taylor Twellman cut a WWE-level promo on the team. I’ve decided to jump on the Trinidad and Tobago bandwagon. I just hope they set some alarm clocks*.

Dusty Baker seems lost
The Nationals and Cubs were rained out on Tuesday, which seemed perfect because it gave Stephen Strasburg an extra day of rest. But Strasburg “declined” to start due to illness, Dusty Baker provided a weird explanation for said sickness and things seem very dysfunctional in D.C.
I was duped
In yesterday Clicks, I linked to a funny post about Gilbert Arenas shutting down Mia Khalifa‘s attempts to hang out together. Turns out it was all a big publicity stunt for their new show on Complex. Good job by them, I guess.
Lovely Lady of the Day
Castings for the 2018 SI Swimsuit issue are in full swing and Camille Ringoir seems like a natural fit. I hope she makes it. She is today’s LLOD (click for full-size gallery).

I love chips. More specifically, I love Kettle Brand, the tasty, crunchy chip that has been celebrating potato perfection since 1982! So when Kettle Brand asked me if I wanted to do a giveaway, it was a quick yes. With that in mind, I’ll send a price pack of Kettle Brand chips to the 50th, 100th, 150th, 200th and 250th person to email me (andy_gray@simail.com) the NHL team a Canadian couple went to court for season tickets about. The answer was in Tuesday’s Clicks. Please make the subject line “Kettle Brand.”
Points for honesty
I was really disappointed the USA men’s team didn’t qualify for the World Cup. Then I remembered I couldn’t care less about soccer.

Smart advertising
Odds & Ends
Eminem released a politically-charged freestyle that praised Colin Kaepernick‘s social activism … Muhammad Ali’s company is suing Fox for $30 million … Eddie Vedder gave this Cubs fan the best cocktail party story ever … Adrian Peterson not only got traded yesterday, he also got sued … The best Twitter moments from the 2017 NFL season so far … If tech giants like Google and Apple had their own soccer team, here’s what the uniforms would look like … This poor Red Sox fan … More celebs are coming out with their own Harvey Weinstein horror stories (and this story made me like Brad Pitt) … Stringer Bell would never have approved this shirtless magazine cover spread.
He wouldn’t do this in the regular season
