What time and when is The Great Sport Relief Bake Off episode 2 on TV? – Telegraph.co.uk
Ed Balls
Former Labour politician
Following Samantha Cameron’s triumph in the first episode, Mr Balls will have to roll up his sleeves to equal her brilliance. But the father of three, who was taught to cook by his mum, is no stranger in the kitchen and apparently bakes birthday cakes for his children. Among his creations are an edible iPad, a pirate ship, a Converse shoe and a cheeseburger cake.
Victoria Coren Mitchell
Writer and presenter
“Yes, in explicably, they are allowing me near the knives,” wrote the presenter on Twitter when the series was announced. The wife of comedian David Mitchell should provide a few sardonic laughs in the show. “I do all the cooking at home,” she says. “My husband is grateful to have food put infront of him but he doesn’t demand that it looks like the Taj Mahal!” Quite.
Expert baker? No. Confident there’s nothing in life that can’t be improved by the addition of butter and sherry? Yes. Oh do keep it clean.

Chris Kamara
Sports commentator

The football analyst is swapping punditry for proofing as he takes to the Bake Off tent. He’s best known for his good humour and banter but he also has a military background so should have the discipline to follow one of Mary Berry’s tough recipes. Chris’s wife Anne gave him a crash course in cooking in the run up to filming the show. We’re not sure it’s done much good though…
Kimberley Walsh
Singer, actor and member of pop band Girls Aloud
Walsh and her former Girls Aloud bandmate Cheryl Fernandez-Versini apparently hook up for girly cooking sessions in their pyjamas. Her signature bake is banana bread but we’re more concerned with her pastry skills here:

The challenges
The bakers must make 24 identical American-style muffins for their signature challenge, football pies in the technical challenge and, finally, show-stopping tiered cakes representing an extreme sport.
For the showstopper, Ed Balls makes an Eddie the Eagle cake with Kit Kat skis, jelly bean supporters cordoned off by Curly Wurlies and Olympic rings made from Fruit Polos. What a concoction!
But the pie round looks like it tested some of the bakers the most…
So where’s presenter Mel Giedroyc?
Perhaps she’s hiding in one of those pretty Smeg fridges or washing up round the back but there’s no Mel in this episode. Instead, comedian Jennifer Saunders takes on the roll of host. She will then hand the baton over to Sarah Millican and Ed Byrne, who will present the remaining two episodes.
The Great Sport Relief Bake Off episode 2 is on BBC One on Wednesday 3 February at 8pm
