Monday, November 28, 2016

In early 2013 Chris Jones was in a Nashville bar with a group of soccer-minded acquaintances wondering out loud how to start a club. “How do we do this? What do we charge per year?” Jones asked over a couple of drinks. The local team, the Nashville Metros, had just folded and Jones, who had worked in marketing for the club, wanted to make sure that the city’s growing love of soccer would not wane. Inspired by English…

Monday, November 28, 2016

Year 2 is Dave Dombrowski’s chance to show off his creativity. Year 1 was paint-by-numbers. Last offseason, the Red Sox’ plan was clear cut: Find a starter, reliever and backup outfielder. This winter it’s not so simple. The Red Sox’ obvious needs…

NFL Winners and Losers: Colin Kaepernick might be reviving his career – Yahoo Sports

Monday, November 28, 2016

That will get sorted out in the offseason. Maybe he doesn’t even hit free agency – it’s not like the 49ers have a better quarterback option, and the 2017 draft isn’t filled with future stars at the position. But on a bad 49ers team, Kaepernick has been playing like it’s 2012-13 again. You might not have heard much about Kaepernick’s resurgence on the field because most of the attention he…

But this breakdown is fascinating and makes a ton of sense. Trent Dilfer and Matthew Hasselbeck took a look at some of the ways these two quarterbacks were aided by playing baseball. For Wilson, it comes down to the ability…
