Amazon.com

The Thule 575 snowboard carrier rooftop rack is an angled side mount snowboard carrier designed for ease of installation and use, as well as a space-saving profile on your roof rack, and attractive styling that complements any vehicle. Capable of carrying up to two snowboards of any size, the Thule 575's two carrier assemblies feature angled board slots. This allows for easy access to the boards as well as maintains an aerodynamic profile of boards and bindings. It also leaves plenty of space on your rack for any additional accessories, such as a cargo box for extra gear, that you might want to carry. In addition, the angled profile of the Thule 575 Snowboard Carrier Rooftop Rack allows for the loading of boards bottom-to-bottom, which protects your vehicle's finish from possible scratches.

Simple Installation and Use

The Thule 575 snowboard carrier rooftop rack features nearly tool-free installation, requiring only the basic wrench tool and the hardware supplied. Designed for universal compatibility with roof racks, this carrier can be used with virtually any roof rack, including all Thule racks, other brand's round cross bars and most factory racks. The carrier features angled board carrier assemblies that attach to load bars via swiveling two-piece clamps that are partially factory installed to the two carrier assemblies. Users only need to rotate the top portion of these out perpendicular to the carrier assemblies and then, after ensuring that the assemblies are aligned and toward the outer edge of the vehicle, mount one on each load bar with the separate bottom portion of the clamps and the included tamperproof screws. The carrier is now ready for use.

The Thule 575 snowboard carrier rooftop Rack secures snowboards through simple interaction between the three prongs of the carrier assemblies and a cable locking system within each. The carrier comes with four board support elements that pinch down into a smaller form which are then able to be inserted between the prongs of the carrier assemblies where they are held in place by ridges. After boards are loaded, these support elements are used to create an even outer board edge at the top of the assemblies, allowing for boards of various widths to be transported together. Boards, whether singly or in a pair, are loaded into the slots of the carrier assemblies. Next a locking cable, with a protective sleeve covering it, is strung from the inner side of the units, across the boards' common edge, and is attached to a corresponding hole at the opposite outer edge of the assemblies and is clamped down. The boards are held in place by a combination of the cable's pressure and the raised, rubberized nubs at their ends of the assemblies' prongs. The cable's tautness can be altered at the inner edge of the carrier assemblies by using one of three hole options to anchor the cable. The Thule 575 snowboard carrier rooftop rack ships with two lock cylinders and keys, one for each carrier assembly, which together ensure security on the road and when you leave your loaded vehicle unattended.

About Thule

Thule was founded in 1942 by the Thulin family, when Eric Thulin, a true lover of the outdoors, put the Thule name on a pike trap he designed and began to sell in Scandinavia. It wasn't long before he added other practical items to the company's portfolio. By the 1960s, the company began to concentrate on car-related products, including its first roof rack. The Thulin family sold Thule to the publicly listed company Eldon in 1979, and it has continued to grow both organically and through acquisitions ever since. The Thule Group is a world leader in providing transport solutions for an active life.
