For an extended trip involving lots of snow-wall building, you're going to want something that can move some snow like the Hauler EXT Shovel from Brooks-Range. The D-grip handle gives you great purchase so it won't slip out of your hands. The Hauler EXT comes with rescue sled stretcher bars inside the shaft that are compatible with Brooks-Range rescue sleds. Though hopefully you don't end up using that part of the shovel.
